I take my boy hiking/hunting/everywhere so he tends to bring back half the forest with him. I have the furminator shampoo/conditioner and I LOVE it - it smells like pina colada.ĬKCs only need their pads trimmed, unless you find that you want to trim off the feathers as well. I do all the brushing myself with a furminator/pinbrush and a slicker brush/flea comb for the feathers. As long as he/she is comfortable, happy and healthy that's all I care about! He/she will just be my little buddy, so I'm not too concerned about him/her having the latest style. Are king charles spaniels at the high end or the low end of that range? And how often does that kind of grooming need to be done? Is it the same as humans getting haircuts? Or does it need to be done all the time? So what are the costs of having a dog professionally groomed? I saw that an individual grooming costs between $40 - $70. I can handle minor stuff like that that, but I think if I went anywhere near a dog with clippers we'd probably end up with the dog version of this. I saw in some videos that they grow hair between their pads that needs to be trimmed with scissors. I'm a single guy and I work, so if I'm going to be giving my dog the exercise, attention and training it needs, I probably won't have a lot of time left for serious grooming. So I'm narrowing down my list of breeds, and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is pretty near the top of the list.
